HANDMADE MARKETPLACE

Last updated: TODO — lawyer fills in effective date

Creator Agreement

This Creator Agreement is between you (a "Creator") and HANDORA. By opening a shop or listing a piece, you accept these terms in addition to the general Terms of Service.

1. Your shop

You’re a sole, independent business. HANDORA isn’t your employer, partner, or agent — we’re a marketplace that helps you sell. You set your prices, materials, shipping rates, processing times, and the countries you ship to. You’re responsible for your own taxes, insurance, business registration, and any licenses your craft requires.

2. What you can list

Every piece on HANDORA must be:

  • Handmade by you, or a small team you manage. Drop-shipping, reselling, and white-label imports are not allowed.
  • Accurately described. The materials, dimensions, and lead times you list must match what you ship.
  • Legal to sell. In your country and in any country you ship to. You’re responsible for customs, import duties, and any restricted-material rules.
  • Yours to sell. No counterfeit goods, no trademark infringement, no copying another maker’s designs without permission.

We may remove listings that violate these rules without notice and may close shops with repeat or severe violations.

3. Payments and the 8% platform fee

Buyers pay HANDORA at checkout via Stripe. After the order is marked delivered, your share — 92% of the item subtotal plus 100% of the shipping you charged, minus Stripe’s payment-processing fees — is transferred to your connected Stripe account on Stripe’s standard payout schedule.

Shipping you charge is yours in full. The 8% fee applies only to the item subtotal. Stripe’s processing fees are deducted by Stripe directly and are typically around 2.9% + 30¢ (see Stripe’s pricing page for current figures).

We may change the platform fee in the future with at least 30 days’ notice. The new fee applies only to orders placed after the change.

4. Stripe Connect

To receive payouts you must complete Stripe Connect Express onboarding, which includes identity verification and bank-account setup. Stripe is the legal payments provider; their Connect Account Agreement applies directly between you and Stripe.

HANDORA isn’t responsible for Stripe’s decisions about your connected account (verification holds, payout pauses, account suspensions), but we’ll work with you to resolve issues where we can.

5. Fulfilling orders

When a buyer places an order, you’re expected to:

  • Accept or decline within a reasonable window (we surface unaccepted orders prominently on /seller/orders)
  • Make and ship the piece within the timeline you listed
  • Mark the order shipped with a real tracking number + carrier — buyers see this on their order page
  • Pack carefully and label according to your shipping carrier’s rules, including customs forms for international orders

If you can’t make or ship a piece (out of stock, materials shortage, injury, anything), tell the buyer through HANDORA messaging and either offer a new timeline or cancel the order. Don’t leave them in the dark.

6. Refunds, returns, and disputes

You decide your refund and return policy and HANDORA enforces it. Buyers can open a refund request from their order page; you receive it on /seller/orders with the buyer’s reason and any photos. You can approve (full refund, processed via Stripe + transfer reversal) or decline with a written reason.

For chargebacks (a buyer disputes the charge with their bank), Stripe and HANDORA may withhold the disputed amount from your balance during investigation. If Stripe rules against you, the amount is debited from your next payout. We’ll alert you when this happens and pass along the evidence Stripe requests.

TODO (legal): Add language about platform’s right to issue good-will refunds in egregious cases (e.g. items that never shipped) and how that affects the Creator’s balance.

7. Reviews and your shop’s reputation

Buyers can leave reviews after their order is marked delivered. Reviews are public, tied to the buyer’s name + city, and stay live as long as the product exists. You can’t edit or delete reviews. If a review violates the Terms (harassment, doxxing, irrelevant content), report it and we’ll review.

8. Custom orders

If you enable custom orders, buyers can send you briefs. You quote a price and timeline; the buyer accepts and pays through the normal checkout. Once you’ve sent a quote and the buyer has accepted, it’s a binding order — you’re expected to make and ship the piece as agreed.

9. Intellectual property

You keep ownership of your pieces and your photos. You grant HANDORA a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to display, reproduce, and promote your listings on the Service (search, category pages, marketing emails, social media) for as long as your shop is open or the listing is active.

10. Account suspension and closure

We may suspend or close your shop for repeated or severe violations, fraud, or a sustained pattern of unfulfilled orders. We’ll try to give notice and an opportunity to fix the issue where reasonable, but we don’t have to in cases of fraud, illegal activity, or harm to buyers.

You can close your own shop from Account → Open my shop toggle (or delete your account entirely). Pending orders are honored before the shop fully closes.

11. Indemnity

TODO (legal): Standard mutual-or-one-way indemnity clauses covering IP infringement, product-liability claims from buyers, and tax-collection obligations on the Creator’s side.
